Hello and welcome to the first instalment of the Hupe newsletter! In this introductory article, we will provide a detailed overview of the Hupe Program, what it entails, and set the stage for the topics to be covered in this newsletter going forward.

Understanding Hupe: Extending Lifespan

To truly understand what Hupe is all about, we need to start with some definitions. In the pursuit of health and longevity, it's essential to distinguish between two fundamental concepts: lifespan and healthspan. Lifespan refers to the total number of years in a person's life, while healthspan refers to the number of years lived in good health and free from chronic disease and disability.

While extending lifespan is a common goal, the true essence of longevity lies in maximising healthspan—ensuring that the years we live are filled with vigour and vitality, free from disability and disease. At Hupe, we recognise the importance of focusing not only on increasing the quantity of your years, but also on enhancing the quality of those years.

Ultimately, the aim of the Hupe Program is to reduce your biological age, which - simply put - is the rate at which you're ageing physically, regardless of your actual, or chronological age. One way to measure this is by looking at the state of your immune system and levels of chronic inflammation, which are in turn influenced by various variables like genetic factors such as your ethnic background and predispositions to certain conditions and diseases, but also your lifestyle choices like your diet, sleep, stress, and activity levels. By reversing your biological age, you are thereby decreasing your risk of chronic illness and empowering yourself to live a longer, healthier, and happier life.

The Importance of Personalisation

Hupe's philosophy revolves around the idea that each individual is unique, possessing distinct biology, physiology, genetics, experiences, and circumstances. Recognising this diversity, a one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness falls short in addressing the unique needs and potential of each person. Such generic methods often overlook the intricate nuances that make each individual's health journey distinct and meaningful. With this foundational belief, Hupe emphasises a holistic and hyper-personalised approach to health optimisation. The program integrates cutting-edge technology with personalised care, ensuring that each Member receives tailored guidance and support.

The Role of Diagnostic Testing

Diagnostic testing plays a pivotal role in the Hupe Program, offering a comprehensive view of each Member's unique health landscape. The comprehensive diagnostic testing process includes:

  • Biological Age Testing: Evaluates the rate at which individuals are ageing physically, offering insights into overall health and potential age-related risks.
  • Comprehensive Blood and Urine Analysis: Assesses a wide range of biomarkers associated with overall health, providing a holistic view of metabolic function, nutrient status, inflammation levels, and potential risk factors.
  • Genetic Testing: Delves into genetic predispositions related to disease risk, metabolic function, nutrient needs, pharmacogenetics and various other factors, offering personalised recommendations tailored to each Member's unique genetic makeup.
  • Hormone Testing: Evaluates comprehensive hormone levels to provide insights into metabolic function, stress response, reproductive health, and overall well-being.
  • Food Allergy and Intolerance Testing: Identifies specific food and environmental allergies and intolerances to guide dietary choices for optimal health.
  • Gut Microbiome Testing: Analyses the composition and function of the gut microbiome, understanding its role in digestion, immune function, and overall health.
  • Mould and Environmental Toxin Testing: Detects exposure to mould, heavy metals, and environmental pollutants, assessing their impact on health and guiding detoxification and lifestyle adjustments.
  • DEXA Scan: Provides precise measurements of bone density, body composition, and fat distribution, offering insights into musculoskeletal health and metabolic status.

These comprehensive tests lay the groundwork for crafting hyper-personalised Wellness Strategies, ensuring that each Member's health optimisation journey is tailored to their specific needs and goals.

Wearable Health Tracking Devices

Wearable devices play a crucial role in the Hupe Program, serving as constant companions in one’s  health optimisation journey. These carefully selected devices continuously track and monitor vital health metrics, such as sleep quantity and quality, physical activity levels, blood sugar levels, and body composition. The Hupe Program integrates three key wearable devices to provide comprehensive health monitoring and insights:

  • The Ultrahuman Ring AIR tracks a range of metrics related to sleep, movement, and recovery, including heart rate, heart rate variability, body temperature, sleep stages, and more.
  • The Ultrahuman M1 Continuous Glucose Monitor monitors real-time blood glucose levels throughout the day, offering insights into metabolic health and glucose fluctuations.
  • The Withings Body Composition Scale measures weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, and nerve health using bioelectrical impedance analysis technology.

All data from these wearable devices are seamlessly integrated onto the Hupe platform, providing actionable insights and empowering Members to make informed decisions and adjustments to their daily activities and lifestyles.

Exploring the Hupe Program

Now let’s dive into what the Hupe Program actually entails. One of the first of its kind, Hupe is a revolutionary and exclusive human optimisation program that aims to transform the conventional approach to human ageing, holistic wellness, and performance. The Program was designed with convenience in mind; it leverages cutting-edge technology to eliminate all friction along the path between you and your best self. We understand the demands of modern life and the value of your time; that is why everything needed for this transformative journey can be readily accessible through our intuitive platform.

The Hupe Program unfolds over a length of 5 months, structured into two major phases. Upon enrolment, Members will receive their wearable devices, undergo comprehensive diagnostic testing, and have an initial consultation with their dedicated Hupe Experience Manager, who will guide and support them throughout the Hupe journey. This initiates the first phase of the Program, where data collection and analysis commence to gain insights into Members’ biology, physiology, genetics, and lifestyle. Members will also get acquainted with their Wellness Team, comprising of:

  • An Integrative Medical Doctor, who leads the Wellness Team
  • A Nutritionist, who will provide nutritional guidance and support
  • A Physiotherapist, who will assess and optimise movement and mobility
  • A Mindset Coach, who will support psychological and emotional wellbeing and adherence to the Program

As diagnostic test results and information from the Wellness Team consultations are collected, a hyper-personalised Wellness Strategy will take shape, ready to be presented to the Member by the end of the second month of the Program.

This will initiate the transition into the second, interventional phase of the Program, spanning the subsequent 3 months. During this phase, Members will receive personalised supplements and begin integrating their Nutrition, Supplementation, Fitness, and Mindset Plans into their lifestyles to enhance their health and longevity. Throughout this phase, ongoing support and guidance will be provided by the Wellness Team and Hupe Experience Manager.

Upon reaching the fourth month of the program, key biomarkers related to the Member’s Wellness Strategy will be re-evaluated, including a follow-up biological age test. In the final month, Members will receive these updated results for collective analysis. This pivotal moment offers a tangible sense of progress and achievement! Any areas for further improvement will be pinpointed, and Members will be given the option to continue their health optimisation journey through a personalised membership plan tailored to their specific needs.
